    ومُجْتباهُ لحفظِ الدين والأُمَمِ

    O you entrusted with the secret—God's secret, singled out for it—

    and His chosen one to safeguard the faith and the nations;

    من بعد ما كان معدوداً من الرِّمَمِ

    and you who spread justice through the world and revived it

    after it had been counted among the moldering remains;

    and giver of cities and towns, teeming with people,

    without reminders of favors, delay, or regret.

    Bounty poured down upon me from your two palms,

    as a low-hanging cloudbank breaks into streaming rain.

    So I rose to proclaim my thanks for the bounty,

    eloquently, in both prose and verse,

    until I filled all God's lands

    with praise of a bright-faced man, ever helpful in hardship,

    of one whose shining face and palm

    dispel the anguish of oppression and darkness.

    And bounty has its completion: if you bestow it,

    you will remove the taint of grit from pure generosity.

    فما ينْبتَ فباقٍ غيرُ مُنْهَدِمِ

    May you endure for glory, building it and raising it high;

    for whatever grows endures, never falling to ruin.
