The one with sweet, dusky lips—how madly I love him,
How sweet is sleep, how I yearn for it
with yearning, though love’s frenzy is of no avail.
In passion, though yearning is of no use

And how often I have passed the darkness sleepless,
How often have I roamed in the dark
until sleep shunned my eyelid.
Until sleep has evaded my eyes
