قلsay للحواسدto the envious إنthat اللهGod أكرمناhas honored us
قل للحواسد إن الله أكرمنا
بماwith what ترونyou see ومنهand from Him الفضلbounty والمدَدُand aid
بما ترون ومنه الفضل والمدَدُ
Tell the envious that God has honored us
Tell the envious that God has honored us
with what you see; from Him come bounty and aid.
With what you see, from Him come grace and help
الحمدpraise للهto God كمhow many فيناamong us لخَالقناfrom our Creator
الحمد لله كم فينا لخَالقنا
مواهبgifts ليسnot يحصيreckons شكرهاthanks for them أحدُanyone
مواهب ليس يحصي شكرها أحدُ
Praise be to God! Our Creator has granted us so many
Praise be to God, how many gifts from our Creator are in us
gifts whose due thanks no one can reckon.
Talents that no one can fully thank Him for
فإنso if قدرتمyou are able علىto تحويلdiverting أنعمهHis blessings
فإن قدرتم على تحويل أنعمه
عنّاfrom us فدونكمُthen go ahead, all of you ياO قومpeople فاجتهدواso strive
عنّا فدونكمُ يا قوم فاجتهدوا
So if you can turn His blessings
If you can divert His blessings from us
away from us, then have at it, O people—do your utmost!
Go ahead, O people, and make the effort
فلاso may ... not أزالَremove إلاهthe God الخلقof creation أنعمهHis blessings
فلا أزالَ إلاه الخلق أنعمه
عنّاfrom us ولاand may not زالdepart عنكمfrom you ذلكthat الحسدًenvy
عنّا ولا زال عنكم ذلك الحسدً
So may the God of creation never remove His blessings
But the God of creation will not remove His gifts from us
from us, nor may that envy ever leave you.
