إمامُناour imam حيدرةٌHaydara أفضَلُthe best
إمامُنا حيدرةٌ أفضَلُ
الأمةِof the community أُخْراهاits last وأُوْلاَهَاand its first
الأمةِ أُخْراها وأُوْلاَهَا
Our imam, Haydara, is the best
Our Imam Haydar is the best
of the community, its last and its first.
Of the nation, its last and its first
أحقُّهاits most entitled منfrom بَعدِafter خيرthe best of الورىcreation
أحقُّها من بَعدِ خير الورى
بالسَّبقto precedence فيin الفَضْلvirtue وأَوْلاَهاand its most worthy
بالسَّبق في الفَضْل وأَوْلاَها
After the best of creation, he has the strongest claim
The most deserving after the best of mankind
to precedence in virtue, and is the worthiest of them.
In virtue and precedence from the start
وآلهand his family أكرمْhow noble بهمْthey are عُترةًas a kindred
وآله أكرمْ بهمْ عُترةً
شرَفَهاhonored it اللهGod وأعلاهاand exalted it
شرَفَها الله وأعلاها
And his family—how noble a kindred they are!
And his family, ennobled through them
God has honored and exalted it.
Honored by God and raised on high
ياO لائِميmy reproacher لاdo not تَلْحُreproach فيregarding زُمرةٍa company
يا لائِمي لا تَلْحُ في زُمرةٍ
منof الهدىguidance أنthat أتولاّهاI am loyal to them
من الهدى أن أتولاّها
O my reproacher, do not blame me over a company
O you who blame me, do not persist
of the rightly guided, for being loyal to them.
In a group that strays from guidance if I follow them
مَحَبَّةُlove الآلِof the family حَياتيmy life فَماso how
مَحَبَّةُ الآلِ حَياتي فَما
أَلَذَّهاdelightful it is عنديto me وأَحْلاهاand how sweet it is
أَلَذَّها عندي وأَحْلاها
Love for the family is my life—how
Love of the family is my life, so what
delightful it is to me, and how sweet!
Is sweeter to me or more beautiful?
فضلٌa favor مِنfrom اللهGod حَبَانيhe favored me بِهِwith it
فضلٌ مِن الله حَبَاني بِهِ
فَلاso do not تَلُمْنِيblame me ولُمِand blame اللهَGod
فَلا تَلُمْنِي ولُمِ اللهَ
A favor from God, which He bestowed upon me;
A grace from God has granted me this
so do not blame me; blame God.
So do not blame me, but blame God
