ياO معشرَcompany of النَصّابthe Nasibis (foes of the Prophet's family) لاnot نِلتمْmay you gain غداًtomorrow
يا معشرَ النَصّاب لا نِلتمْ غداً
مِنْfrom رحمةthe mercy of اللهِGod العَليّthe Most High نَصيباa share
مِنْ رحمة اللهِ العَليّ نَصيبا
O company of Nasibis, may you not gain tomorrow
O you deceivers, you will not get tomorrow
Any share of the mercy of God Most High.
any mercy from Allah, the Most High
كمhow often ذاthis (emphatic) إلىtoward آلthe family of النبيّthe Prophet محمدٍMuhammad
كم ذا إلى آل النبيّ محمدٍ
أَضْحتْhave become عقاربكمyour scorpions تدبُّcreep دبيباcreeping
أَضْحتْ عقاربكم تدبُّ دبيبا
How often, toward the family of the Prophet Muhammad,
How much have the family of Prophet Muhammad
Have your scorpions come creeping!
become targets of your sly tricks
عَمداًdeliberately تناسيتُمyou feigned forgetting مقالةَthe declaration of أحمدٍAhmad
عَمداً تناسيتُم مقالةَ أحمدٍ
إذwhen قامَhe stood فيon يومthe day of الغديرِGhadir خطيباas an orator
إذ قامَ في يوم الغديرِ خطيبا
You deliberately feigned forgetting Ahmad's declaration,
You have deliberately forgotten the words of Ahmed
When he stood on the day of Ghadir to deliver an address.
when he stood as an orator on the day of Ghadeer
الحقّthe truth مُتّضحٌclear ولكنّand yet الشّقاwretchedness
الحقّ مُتّضحٌ ولكنّ الشّقا
أَعْمَىhas blinded بصائِرَfaculties of insight منكُمamong you وقلوباand hearts
أَعْمَى بصائِرَ منكُم وقلوبا
The truth is clear, and yet wretchedness
The truth is clear but your blindness and hearts
Has blinded insight and hearts among you.
have been blinded by your stubbornness
والنصّand the explicit declaration مثلُlike الشمسِthe sun لاnot يَخْفَىis hidden ولاnor
والنصّ مثلُ الشمسِ لا يَخْفَى ولا
يضْحيbecomes بغيمِby the cloud of عنادِكمyour obstinacy محجوباveiled
يضْحي بغيمِ عنادِكم محجوبا
And the explicit declaration is like the sun: it is not hidden, nor
And the clear text is like the sun, it cannot be hidden
Does it become veiled by the cloud of your obstinacy.
nor obscured by the clouds of your defiance
