أبثّك فرْطَ اشتياقٍ إليْك

أبثّك فرْطَ اشتياقٍ إليْك

بهِ ظلَّ يعذرني مَنْ عذلْ

بهِ ظلَّ يعذرني مَنْ عذلْ

I confide to you my overwhelming longing for you.

I confide to you my intense longing,

Because of it, those who reproached me have kept excusing me.

Through it, he who blames me is excused.

وإنّي وإن غبتَ عن ناظري

وإنّي وإن غبتَ عن ناظري

على العَهْدِ طول المدى لم أزَلْ

على العَهْدِ طول المدى لم أزَلْ

And I, though you are absent from my sight,

Though you are absent from my sight,

have remained true to the pledge all along.

I have not wavered from my pledge however long the absence.

عقودُ ودادكَ في خاطري

عقودُ ودادكَ في خاطري

منظّمةٌ عقدُها لا يُحَلّ

منظّمةٌ عقدُها لا يُحَلّ

The necklaces of your love within my mind

The necklaces of your friendship in my heart

are strung in order; their knot is never undone.

Are strung with a knot that cannot be undone.
