أنا السيفُ لا تُختشى نبوتي

أنا السيفُ لا تُختشى نبوتي

إذ أُحشيتْ نبوة القاضبِ

إذ أُحشيتْ نبوة القاضبِ

I am the sword; my failure to cut is not feared,

I am the sword, my prophecy is not to be feared,

when the keen blade’s failure to cut was feared.

For I have filled the prophecy of the punisher,

إلى ذي القفار اعتزائي كما

إلى ذي القفار اعتزائي كما

إلى حيدر يعتزي صاحبي

إلى حيدر يعتزي صاحبي

My affiliation is with Dhu al-Qifar, just as

My pride is to the one in the deserts, as

my companion claims affiliation with Haydar.

My companion takes pride in Haydar.
