A man of generosity who does not begin to speak in promise
of his bounty until his hands have begun the deed.

and gold from the heights, purified by God.
فلوso if أنصَفَتْdid justice to غُرُّthe radiant ones of الأهلّةِthe crescents نَعْلَهُhis sandal
فلو أنصَفَتْ غُرُّ الأهلّةِ نَعْلَهُ
لكانthen would be علىupon الأَحداقِthe eyes مِنْهنَof them مَمشاهُhis path
لكان على الأَحداقِ مِنْهنَ مَمشاهُ
If the radiant crescents did his sandal justice,
his path would lie upon their very eyes.

for generosity is merely a name, and you its embodiment.
رويدَكَgently ماthere is no فوقُabove الكَواكِبِthe stars رِفعةٌheight

Gently! There is no height above the stars;
what station above them, then, do you seek?

keeping the horizon's star company and watching it.

and turn its injury and affliction away from me.

Your court is a court where no guest is wronged;
how could time wrong one whose protector you are?
