Sol 6.1

  1. جمالُ الهدى والمكرمات ومن لَه

    عُلىً لا يداني حصرهنّ لسانُ

    The adornment of guidance and noble deeds, and one whose

    lofty honors no tongue can come close to recounting.

  2. وسابقُ أربابِ المكارمِ عن يَدٍ

    إذا ضمّها يوم الفخارِ رهانُ

    And he who decisively outstrips the masters of noble deeds,

    when a contest brings them together on the day of glory.

  3. وشيعي آل المصطفى سادة الورى

    جميعاً ومن هُم للأنام أمانُ

    And a partisan of al-Mustafa's family, lords of humankind

    in its entirety, and those who are a safeguard for humanity.

  4. وليث الوغى إن قهقرتْ أسد الشرى

    وقيل غداة الرّوع أين فلان

    And a lion of battle when the lions of al-Shara retreat,

    and on the morning of terror it is asked, 'Where is so-and-so?'

  5. يرومُ بنو العلياء شأوَكَ في العُلَى

    فأتعَبْتَهم مُذ كنتَ قَطّ وكانوا

    The sons of eminence seek to match your reach in glory;

    so you have wearied them ever since you and they came to be.

  6. وما زلتَ مِقداماً لكلّ كريهةٍ

    قَرِينَاكَ فيها مُرهفٌ وسنانُ

    And you have always been bold before every peril;

    your two companions there are a keen blade and a spearpoint.

  7. تجاهدُ أهل البغي حتّى تُخرّموا

    فأعطوا على الرّغم القياد ودانوا

    You fight the people of oppression until they are decimated,

    so they yield the reins against their will and submit.

  8. وما زانكَ المجدُ الأثيل وإنّما

    لعمري بكَ المجد الأثيلُ يُزانُ

    And it is not time-honored glory that adorns you; rather,

    by my life, time-honored glory is adorned by you.

  9. رجوتُكَ بعد الله فيما أهمّني

    وأيُّ عزيزٍ قد رَجاكَ يُهانُ

    I have put my hope in you, after God, for what troubles me;

    and what honored man who has hoped in you could be humiliated?

  10. ووجّهتُ آمالي خِماصاً لَعلّها

    تعودُ من الإِحسان وهي بِطانُ

    And I have sent my hopes forth empty-bellied, hoping they may

    return from bounty with their bellies full.

  11. وفي النّفسِ حاجاتٌ وفيك فطانةٌ

    سكوتي خطابٌ عندها وبيانُ

    Within my soul are needs, and within you is discernment;

    to that discernment, my silence is speech and clear expression.

  12. ومثلكَ من يُرجَى لكلِّ عظيمةٍ

    ومثلي عَلى ما أرتجيه يُعانُ

    And one like you is looked to for every weighty matter,

    and one like me is aided in what I hope for.

  13. ولا زلتَ مَحْروِسَ الجناب بحفظٍ مَنْ

    له كلُّ حينٍ في البريّة شانُ

    And may you ever remain guarded in your domain by the protection of Him

    who at every moment is at work among creation.
