ومُثقّلand a tiresome fellow وافيcame to مقامَthe gathering place of جماعةٍa group
ومُثقّل وافي مقامَ جماعةٍ
فيهin it السّقَاةthe cupbearers تطوفُgo around بالكَاسَاتِwith the cups
فيه السّقَاة تطوفُ بالكَاسَاتِ
And a tiresome fellow came to a gathering,
And burdened, fulfilling the abode of a group
where the cupbearers go around with cups.
Within it, the water-bearers circle with goblets
فَسمعتُthen I heard بعضَsome of القومthe company يدعوcalling to بَعضهمsome of them
فَسمعتُ بعضَ القوم يدعو بَعضهم
توبواrepent, all of you فهذاfor this is هَادمُthe destroyer of اللّذاتِpleasures
توبوا فهذا هَادمُ اللّذاتِ
Then I heard some of the company calling to others:
So I heard some of the people inviting others
“Repent, for this is the destroyer of pleasures!”
