اللَّهو رطبٌ وشملُنَا في اجتماعِ

Where the garden of youth is lush, and the bough

Where the meadow of youth is lush and green

Of merriment is fresh, and our company is united;

And the branch of playfulness is moist and fresh

وكؤوس السرورِ بين النّدامى

وكؤوس السرورِ بين النّدامى

دائراتٍ من كفٍّ ذات قِناعِ

دائراتٍ من كفٍّ ذات قِناعِ

And cups of joy among the drinking companions

As we sit together in company

Circulate from the hand of a veiled woman.

Passing around cups of joy amongst friends

واغتنم لذّة التصابي فأيّا

واغتنم لذّة التصابي فأيّا

م التَّداني سريعة الانْقطاعِ

م التَّداني سريعة الانْقطاعِ

And seize the delight of youthful play, for the days

Take hold of the pleasure of companionship

Of closeness are swiftly cut short.

For the intimacy is quick to dissipate
