تَسامى الرِجالُ عَلى خَيلِهِم

وَرِجلِيَ مِن بَينِهِم حافِيَة

وَرِجلِيَ مِن بَينِهِم حافِيَة

The men rose high upon their horses,

The men rose high upon their horses,

while my foot among them was bare.

And my foot among them is bare.

فَإِن كُنتَ حامِلَنا رَبَّنا

فَإِن كُنتَ حامِلَنا رَبَّنا

وَإِلّا فَأَرجِل بَني الزانِيَة

وَإِلّا فَأَرجِل بَني الزانِيَة

If You are to carry us, our Lord—

So if You will give us mounts, our Lord—

otherwise, make the sons of the adulteress go on foot.

And if not, make the sons of the adulteress go on foot.
