قَالُوا غَداً يَنْدَمُ مِنْ لَثْمِه

قَالُوا غَداً يَنْدَمُ مِنْ لَثْمِه

في ثَغْرِهِ إِذْ يَغْلِبُ السُّكْرُ

في ثَغْرِهِ إِذْ يَغْلِبُ السُّكْرُ

They said, “Tomorrow he will regret kissing him

They said tomorrow he'll regret his kiss

on his lips when intoxication takes hold.”

When drunkenness rules his senses

فَقالَ لِي مَبْسَمُهُ دَعْهُمُ

فَقالَ لِي مَبْسَمُهُ دَعْهُمُ

اليَوْمَ خَمْرٌ وغَداً أَمْرُ

اليَوْمَ خَمْرٌ وغَداً أَمْرُ

Then his smiling mouth said to me, “Leave them be:

But his smiling lips said to me, let them be

today is for wine, and tomorrow for business.”
