يُنوِّرُ الطَّرْفُ كَيَسَا

يُنوِّرُ الطَّرْفُ كَيَسَا

إِنْ نَاوَلَ الكَفَّ كَاسَا

إِنْ نَاوَلَ الكَفَّ كَاسَا

The gaze shines with wit

The eye lights up a cup

if he places a cup in the hand.

If the palm holds a glass

وَإِنْ تَقَدَّمَ حَيَّا

وَإِنْ تَقَدَّمَ حَيَّا

وَإِنْ تَحَدَّثَ كَاسَا

وَإِنْ تَحَدَّثَ كَاسَا

And if he steps forward, he greets;

And if it steps forward alive

and if he speaks, he shows wit.

And if it converses a glass
