O Lord, I have fallen in love with him,

    supple of form and slender-waisted.

    And the fresh narcissus that

has gathered in his two eyes

is doubled, yet with the lowering

of the eye, it has become enfeebling.

If he has sinned by turning away,

then my patience has worn away.

How often I sought the tenderness of his waist,

yet from it he showed me harshness.

And I sought from that down upon his cheek

a kindly inclination, but it held back.
