My heart does not dally with love for anyone but you.

And my mouth speaks of nothing but love.

By your life, I have never turned from you in love.

And when I swear by the honor due to you, I do not break my oath.

O you who are far away, yet dwell in my heart,

Love for you has a magic that breathes into my heart.

If you do not grant union, then console

My heart with a promise; then afterward break it.

The reproacher ignorantly blamed me for loving you.

My ears found no delight in what he said.

And I lent him my ear for the pleasure of hearing you mentioned,

Not for what he discusses there about turning away.

You are my beloveds, and you are my goal.

If you wish, urge the camels onward, or stay.
