إِنَّindeed الَّذيthe one who مَنْزِلُهُhis dwelling
إِنَّ الَّذي مَنْزِلُهُ
مِنْfrom سُحْبِclouds of دَمْعِيmy tears أَمْرَعَاgrew verdant
مِنْ سُحْبِ دَمْعِي أَمْرَعَا
Indeed, he whose dwelling
grew verdant from the clouds of my tears—
لَمْdid not أَدْرِI know مِنْfrom بَعْدِيَafter me هَلْwhether
لَمْ أَدْرِ مِنْ بَعْدِيَ هَلْ
ضَيَّعَhe neglected عَهْدِيmy covenant أَمْor رَعَىhe honored it
ضَيَّعَ عَهْدِي أَمْ رَعَى
I know not whether, after my departure,
he neglected my covenant or honored it.
