I have a temple-lock and a heart that hopes
I yearn for the sweet union after separation
For sweet union with you; both have sought refuge in estrangement.
They're surprised at both their conditions

So marvel, by God, at the state of these two:
One has grown old while the other hasn't reached that stage
That one has turned gray, while this one has not matured.
