يَاO مَنْyou who بِصُدُودِهِthrough his shunning أَلِفْتُI grew accustomed to الفِكْراbrooding
فيin حُبِّكَlove for you مُذْsince نَأَيْتَyou went far away لَمdid not أَلَفْI grow accustomed to كَرَىsleep
O you whose shunning has accustomed me to brooding,
In my love for you, since you went away, I have known no sleep.
كَمْhow long أَحْتَمِلI endure الغَرامَpassion والهَجْرَand abandonment تُرَىI wonder
ياO بَدْرُfull moon بِدَارِيin my home بَعْدَafter ذَاthis البُعْدseparation تُرَىwill you be seen
How long must I endure passion and abandonment, I wonder?
O full moon, will you appear in my home after this separation?
