سُلْطَانَهُhis power أَبداًforever عَليَّover me مُسلَّطُimposed
A moon veiled by excessive coyness.
A moon eclipsed by excessive coquetry
His power holds sway over me forever.
Its rule over me forever imposed
عَهْدِيmy acquaintance بِهِwith him مُتَناهِياًreaching the utmost فيin حُسْنِهِhis beauty
لَكِنَّهُbut he فِيin قَتْلَتِيkilling me مُتَوسِّطُmoderate
I have known him to be unsurpassed in his beauty,
My pact with it limited despite its beauty
Yet in killing me, he is moderate.
Yet in slaying me it's immoderately disposed
