O branch of a sand dune, swaying among the leaves,
O branch, soft whispering in the leaves,
O full moon of the dark night, rising among necklaces,
O moon, dusky radiance rising through the arches,

ذَا هَجْرُكَ مَحْمُولٌ على الأَحْداقِ
If you forsake me or turn away, O full moon, then set;
Whether you spurn me or turn cold, O moon that sets,
This desertion of yours is borne upon the pupils of my eyes.
Your abandonment is etched into my eyelids.
