Sons of Humayd, glory favored the first of you,
O Banu Humayd, honor came to you first
while the last of you fell to abasement and humiliation.
And now humiliation and disgrace are your lot

darting glances are like the points of knives.
With glances cutting like knife blades

His bounty draws you near, at no expense to him,
He who desires it brings it near without aim
yet obtaining it lies beyond India and China.
And his desire comes from India and China
