إِغتَنِم وَصلَ أَخٍ كانَ حَيّاً

إِغتَنِم وَصلَ أَخٍ كانَ حَيّاً

فَكَفى بِالمَوتِ نَأياً وَهَجرا

فَكَفى بِالمَوتِ نَأياً وَهَجرا

Make the most of a brother's fellowship while he is alive,

Cherish the company of a brother when alive,

For death is distance and estrangement enough.

For death’s estrangement and absence are enough.

وَاجعَلِ المالَ إِلى اللَهِ زاداً

وَاجعَلِ المالَ إِلى اللَهِ زاداً

وَاجعَلِ الدُنيا طَريقاً وَجِسرا

وَاجعَلِ الدُنيا طَريقاً وَجِسرا

And make wealth your provision for the journey to God,

Make wealth for God provisions on your way,

And make this world a road and a bridge.

And make the life of this world a path and bridge.

إِنَّما التاجِرُ حَقّاً يَقيناً

إِنَّما التاجِرُ حَقّاً يَقيناً

تاجِرٌ يَربَحُ حَمداً وَأَجرا

تاجِرٌ يَربَحُ حَمداً وَأَجرا

The only true merchant, beyond all doubt,

Truly the merchant who profits with certainty

Is a merchant who earns praise and reward.

Is one whose trade earns praise and reward.
