إِنّيindeed I لَآمُلُsurely hope صُنعَaction; handiwork اللَهِGod فيconcerning حَسَنٍHasan

وَاِبنُ الطَبَخشِيَةِ اللَكعاءِ مَذمومُ
I surely hope for God's intervention concerning Hasan,
I hope for the good work of God
and the son of the foolish al-Tabakhshiyya is reviled.
While the son of al-Tabakhshiyya is condemned

When al-Ta'i joins in commending me, I see no
When the straying one makes a pact with me, I see no one deprived
figure of deprivation, nor does ill fortune cling to me.
Nor does misfortune cling to me

A man had once thwarted me over him; that course was taken
A man once wronged me whose fathers
by his forefathers, and baseness ran in his veins.
And whose lineage was blamed
فَالآنَso now يَنصُرُنيsupports me مَنone who لَيسَis not جانِبُهُhis side

So now one aids me whose side is never
Now the one who is not of fault or oppressed aids me
oppressed, nor is his protégé wronged.

Whenever he calls upon Badr, seeking troops through him,
The noble Arabs and Romans alike
the noble Arabs and the Romans rally to one another's aid.
