I implore you by young al-Kumayti,

and by the form of his fair, radiant face,

and by the pleasing character he possesses,

which is praised, and his great refinement,

and by his fine shaping of letters when he begins them,

properly formed, and his alignment of the lines:

Do you not know that the sons of Furat

possess lofty rank and great honor,

and that Abu al-Abbas bears a mark

that speaks of his generosity and goodness?

When his virtues are displayed before us,

we thank him with a grateful person's sincerity.

We place our hopes in him out of our desire for him,

and hope he will be a vizier to the vizier.
