أَنتَyou بنُson of فَلسٍFals (a copper coin) وَماتَنفَكُّand you never cease مُفتَخِراًboasting
أَنتَ بنُ فَلسٍ وَماتَنفَكُّ مُفتَخِراً
فَكَيفَso how تَصنَعُwould you act لَوif كُنتَyou were اِبنَthe son of دينارِDinar (a gold coin)
فَكَيفَ تَصنَعُ لَو كُنتَ اِبنَ دينارِ
You are the son of Fals, and never cease boasting.
How would you act, then, were you the son of Dinar?
وَأَنتَand you فيamong القَومِthe people تَستَدعيyou lay claim to سِيادَتَهُمlordship over them
وَأَنتَ في القَومِ تَستَدعي سِيادَتَهُم
كَسالِحٍlike a shitter يَدَّعيhe claims فَضلاًsuperiority عَلىover خارِa shitter
كَسالِحٍ يَدَّعي فَضلاً عَلى خارِ
And among the people you claim lordship over them,
like one shitter claiming superiority over another.
