اِسلَم أَبو العَبّاسِ واِب

اِسلَم أَبو العَبّاسِ واِب

قَ وَلا أَزالَ اللَهُ ظِلَّك

قَ وَلا أَزالَ اللَهُ ظِلَّك

Be safe, Abu al-Abbas, and live—

May you be safe, Abu al-Abbas, and live

—on; may God never make your shadow vanish.

وَكُنِ الَّذي تَحيا لَنا

أَبَداً وَنَحنُ نَموتُ قَبلَك

لي حاجَةٌ أَرجو لَها

إِحسانَكَ الأَوفى وَفَضلَك

I have a need, for which I hope to gain

your fullest beneficence and your favor.

وَالمَجدُ مُشتَرِطٌ عَلَي

وَالمَجدُ مُشتَرِطٌ عَلَي

كَ قَضاءَها وَالشَرطُ أَملَك

كَ قَضاءَها وَالشَرطُ أَملَك

And glory requires of—

فَلَئِن كُفيتُ مُهِمَّها

For if I am spared its weighty burden,

So if I am relieved of its burden,

for such a need I have readied one like you.
