أَمّاas for الفَلاحُsuccess فَقَدso indeed غَدَتhave become أَسبابُهُits means
أَمّا الفَلاحُ فَقَد غَدَت أَسبابُهُ
مَعقودَةًtied بِلِوائِكَto your banner المَعقودِknotted
مَعقودَةً بِلِوائِكَ المَعقودِ
As for success, its means have become
The farmer's means are now tied
Tied to your knotted banner.
To your lofty banners knotted
خَفَقَتfluttered عَلَيكَabove you ذُؤابَتَهُits streamer مُشَرِّفاًconferring honor
خَفَقَت عَلَيكَ ذُؤابَتَهُ مُشَرِّفاً
بِالعِزِّwith glory مِنfrom مُتَطَوِّلٍa benefactor مَحمودِpraiseworthy
بِالعِزِّ مِن مُتَطَوِّلٍ مَحمودِ
Its streamer fluttered above you, ennobling you
Your banners fluttered victoriously upon you
With glory, from a praiseworthy benefactor.
With glory from a long, praised conquest
فَذُؤابَةٌso one streamer لِلبَأسِfor battle ظَلَّremained جَناحُهاits wing
فَذُؤابَةٌ لِلبَأسِ ظَلَّ جَناحُها
فيin خُطَّةٍa sphere of action وَذُؤابَةٌand one streamer لِلجودِfor generosity
في خُطَّةٍ وَذُؤابَةٌ لِلجودِ
One streamer is for battle, its wing remaining
A banner for might, its wing spread
In one sphere; another streamer is for generosity.
In a scheme, and a banner for generosity
وَأَرىand I see الأَعِنَّةَthe reins مُذsince جَمَعتَyou gathered شَتاتَهاtheir scattered parts
وَأَرى الأَعِنَّةَ مُذ جَمَعتَ شَتاتَها
لَمnot تَخلُbe devoid مِنof نَصرٍvictory وَمِنand of تَأييدِsupport
لَم تَخلُ مِن نَصرٍ وَمِن تَأييدِ
And I see that the reins, since you gathered their scattered parts,
And I see the spears, since you gathered their fragments
Have lacked neither victory nor support.
They did not lack victory and support
وَنُجومُand the stars مَنthose who عاداكَopposed you فيin أُهوِيَّةٍabysses
وَنُجومُ مَن عاداكَ في أُهوِيَّةٍ
بَخَعَتyielded بِطالِعِto the rising of نَجمِكَyour star المَسعودِauspicious
بَخَعَت بِطالِعِ نَجمِكَ المَسعودِ
And the stars of those who opposed you, in abysses,
And the stars of those who opposed you are in an abyss
Have yielded to the rising of your auspicious star.
Eclipsed by the rising of your fortunate star
فَاِسلَمso stay safe لِيَسلَمَso that it may endure غَيظُrage كُلِّevery مُكاشِحٍspiteful foe
فَاِسلَم لِيَسلَمَ غَيظُ كُلِّ مُكاشِحٍ
مِنهُمamong them وَتَمرَضُand may sicken نَفسُthe soul كُلِّevery حَسودِenvious person
مِنهُم وَتَمرَضُ نَفسُ كُلِّ حَسودِ
So stay safe, that rage may endure in every spiteful foe
So submit, that the rage of every opponent
Among them, and every envier's soul grow sick.
Among them subsides, and the soul of every envier languishes
