Are those people leaving at evening or in the morning?
Are they coming at dawn or bidding us farewell
Do they face parting at nightfall or at dawn?
At parting that touches us or daybreak that makes us whole?

Then, over the pale camels in their nose-rings, races
Do teardrops fall for the caravan in the wilderness
A tear—or is it over the oryx-maidens in their bracelets?
Or for the water-laden clouds in the horizon?

I see not separation leaving behind any farewells
The souls of lovers, until they themselves depart.
Until the souls of lovers recover and heal

Departure and travel awakened sorrow

The pact joined us, so our dwellings connected
In our settlements, and intertwined as branches.

Your father, by the blessings of Mohammed, stood tall
And companies, through Muhammad's bounty.
And we stood firmly by the gifts of God to us

The kindness most deserving that praise be directed
The most rightful thankfulness is to direct all praise to Him
Toward it is that free of reminders of the favor.
Who bestowed the bounty, not to those who simply relayed it

في قُرى العازَرونَ وَالمازِرونا
His concern for tomorrow is splitting skulls
He makes the innocent his prisoners when captured
In the villages of al-'Azarun and al-Mazarun.
And death his dungeons to imprison them

And by my life, the water of Zamzam is no sweeter
He will not settle until Islam is at peace
To him than the blood of Bizarimmin.

He makes the bright blades, when he captures, fetters
Not wavering in submitting to Allah
For his captives, and death their prison.
Until it settles calmly within our hearts

Never flagging in obedience to God, until
Islam rests secure in Timmin.
