And a garden the dew clothed in fresh embroidery,
A garden clothed in dew and garments renewed
So it made souls rise and sit.
Becoming a sojourn for souls and place to repose

When you beheld the flowing water, you fancied it—
When the water's outpour you espy its bareness
With the wind’s palm rippling it—a striped cloak.
The winds have shattered it, coldness imposed
وَإِنand if سَكَنَتit fell still عَنهُaway from it حَسِبتَyou thought صَفاءَهُits clarity

And if the wind fell still, you took its clarity for
Though stilled be the winds, its clarity you’d suppose
A polished sword, its blade spotless, drawn bare.
A bare, burnished sword, blade so smooth and exposed

And gray doves sang there around us,
The doves' leaves around us then sing pleasant tones
A song that makes you forget al-Gharid and Maʿbad.
Melodies that soothe, where troubles decomposed

So never spurn Time as long as it brings happiness,
Resent not time whilst it grants you comfort and ease
And night travel extended what it had already bestowed on you—a hand [wording unclear].
And reaching goals for which you’ve pursued

And take wine from a gazelle who seems,
Taking life as a fawn, that when sating thirst
When he pours, a full moon bearing Farqad.
Drank the full moon, then rested subdued
