Has Qazvin, I wonder, any good deed to its credit with God,

when Ṭimās has taken charge of the land of Qazvin?

What ails the drinking companions, that they complain of his pomp,

in which a madman, brazen in his ignorance, struts like a peacock?

They will not praise you for either looks or character,

when they see you with neither sense nor faith.

With what shameful thing did you fondle their singing-girl—

with a passive sodomite’s arse, or an impotent man’s cock?

And why did you act like a Khurasani among them, accursed one,

while you are blind, with cock and arse alike ailing?
