from Iraq, one dwelling at al-Sawajir.

for the riders: long night journeys and travel in midday heat!

even their unruly ones, between late-night halts and midday rests.

like al-Murtaja ibn Nusayr, the wellspring of goodness.

good deeds repeated time and again.

toward giving, with wealth unimpaired and plentiful.

He does not mar praise by delaying a promise,

nor put off noble deeds with excuses.

If the burden of duty overwhelms the people, he takes it on,

steadfast in his stance, distinguished, never overshadowed.

A spacious breast and an eye looking straight ahead,

in matters of duty, and a face radiant with light.
