No, by Him who fashioned you, I do not want to forget you.

No, by Him who created you, I do not want anyone but you

I know of no soul that wished for its own fate.

A soul that wished for its fate has not told me

وكان التفرق يا ادعج العين عناك

وكان التفرق يا ادعج العين عناك

أنا الذي روحي عذابه صهرها

أنا الذي روحي عذابه صهرها

And if parting has troubled you, O dark-eyed one,

And parting, O most beautiful of eyes, from you

I am the one whose soul has been melted by its torment.

I would extinguish the ray of life when your radiance vanishes.

I would extinguish the light of life - do not disappear from me

May eyes whose gaze cannot reach you go blind.

Eyes have been blinded that cannot see you

أغلي حياتي .. من ثواني بها ألقاك

لولاك ما تسوى حياتي كدرها

I cherish my life for the seconds in which I meet you.

My life is more precious in the moments I meet you

Without you, my life would not be worth its sorrow.

ودنيا خلت من صافي الود وياك

يا عل تكسف شمسها مع قمرها

And a world bereft of the pure love shared with you—

And a world devoid of the sincerity of love with you

May its sun be eclipsed along with its moon.

O summit! Its sun would be shy of its moon
