To see loved ones for an hour after deprivation.
To see the loved ones after deprivation
واللهand God يجازيrequites الليthe one who بلطفهwith its gentleness هدناbroke us
والله يجازي اللي بلطفه هدنا
وقتٍِa time تبدلchanged وأبدلand replaced الوصلunion هجرانestrangement
وقتٍِ تبدل وأبدل الوصل هجران
And may God requite the one whose gentleness broke us—
God reward those whose kindness guided us
A time that changed, replacing union with estrangement.
When time changed and separation replaced union
أقفىdeparted ربيعspring الحبof love .. وأدهرand grew desolate وطناour homeland
أقفى ربيع الحب .. وأدهر وطنا
وشوكand the thorns الثرىof the earth دسناهwe trod on them فيon دربthe path الأحزانof sorrows
وشوك الثرى دسناه في درب الأحزان
Love's spring departed, and our homeland grew desolate.
My spring of love has passed.. and an era of homeland
And we trod the earth's thorns on the path of sorrows.
And we buried the thorns of the path of sorrows
خاطstitched القدرfate بسلوكwith the threads of حكمهits decree كفناour shroud
خاط القدر بسلوك حكمه كفنا
وإلىand when حكمit decrees وشwhat ياترىI wonder بيدin the hands of الإنسانhumankind
وإلى حكم وش ياترى بيد الإنسان
Fate stitched our shroud with the threads of its decree.
Fate has stitched its wisdom into our shroud
And when it decrees, what, I wonder, lies in human hands?
And what can man's will do in the face of destiny?
حناwe ضحاياvictims الياسof despair .. نرجيwe hope for زمناour time
حنا ضحايا الياس .. نرجي زمنا
ينظرlooks لناupon us لوif only يومa day للهfor God's sake بإحسانwith kindness
ينظر لنا لو يوم لله بإحسان
We are victims of despair, hoping that our time
