O sons of Ali ibn Nasr,
O sons of Ali bin Nasr
a plea setting forth my excuse:
My outstretched hands plead my excuse
أسرفتمyou have gone to excess فيin وصاليkeeping ties with me
أسرفتم في وصالي
وليسand it is not يحسنfitting هجريabandoning me
وليس يحسن هجري
You have been lavish in keeping ties with me,
You were excessive in keeping me company
and abandoning me is not fitting.
And it is not good of you to abandon me
