يَسعىhastens إِلىtoward المَوتِdeath وَالقَناand the spears قِصَدٌbroken fragments
يَسعى إِلى المَوتِ وَالقَنا قِصَدٌ
وَخَيلهُand his horses بِالرُؤوسِwith the heads تَنتَعِلُare shod
وَخَيلهُ بِالرُؤوسِ تَنتَعِلُ
He hastens toward death while the spears are shattered,
He seeks death and spear as his goal
And his horses are shod with heads,
His horses with severed heads are shod
كَأَنَّهُas though he واثِقٌcertain بِأَنَّof the fact that لَهُfor him
كَأَنَّهُ واثِقٌ بِأَنَّ لَهُ
عُمراًa lifespan مُقيماًenduring وَماand not لَهُfor him أَجَلُan appointed time of death
عُمراً مُقيماً وَما لَهُ أَجَلُ
As though he were certain that he has
As though confident that for him
An everlasting life and no appointed end.
There is immortal life, but no death date ordained
