Before seeing for himself, the Domestikos received
a report whose telling books cannot contain.

The white swords whispered to him of you from afar,
in counsel; and terror saved his army.

He fled; had you wished, when he escaped,
to overtake him, flight would not have saved him.

if you are willing to be obeyed by what
they bow down to, the crosses would bow to you.
