The arrow of the glance still wounds him

until the chain mail upon him doubled.

Until agates are heaped upon him

ومنَ العجائبِ والهوى عَجبٌ

جمْرٌ يَبيتُ يُذيبُهُ البَرَد

And among wonders—love is a wonder—
