وأَحسُدُ زَنْدَرُوذَ غداةَ سِرْنا

وأَحسُدُ زَنْدَرُوذَ غداةَ سِرْنا

وما حَسَدي له إلاّ عليكمْ

And I envy Zandarudh on the morning we set out;

I envy Zandruz the morning we traveled

And I envy it only on your account:

My envy of him is only because of you

لأنّيَ راحِلٌ عنكمْ برَغْمي

لأنّيَ راحِلٌ عنكمْ برَغْمي

وسارٍ وهْو مُنحدِرٌ إليكم

وسارٍ وهْو مُنحدِرٌ إليكم

For I am leaving you against my will,

Because I am leaving you against my will

And journeying by night, while it flows down toward you.
