إذا هزَّه في ظُلْمَةِ اللّيْلِ جاحم
The nature of fire's flames is to seek the heights
when a stoker shakes them in the darkness of night.

toward the earth, were it not your servant.

over them, while others bit their thumbs.

In their view, your brow was worthy of coronation,
as non-Arab kings were accustomed to.
