Pour the wine, my friend,

Red as a soft cheek,

It courses through the spirits of reason,
It flows with forbidden spirits
like healing in an ailing body.
Like health in a frail body.

Stay when night falls
cloaked in the shade of the vines.
Sprawled under the vines’ shade.

Flowers of delight are scattered
like a finely strung necklace coming apart.
Like a necklace coming undone.

From a generous hand.
