لَقَد شَبهت بِالفلك اِعتِباراً

لَقَد شَبهت بِالفلك اِعتِباراً

لَما قَد كانَ مِن أَمر مُديري

لَما قَد كانَ مِن أَمر مُديري

Indeed, I have been likened to the celestial sphere by analogy,

I have indeed resembled the stars in their course

given what has come to pass concerning the one who turns me.

For what has come to pass in my state of affairs

وَلَكن ذاكَ مفتضح هِلالاً

وَلَكن ذاكَ مفتضح هِلالاً

وَمُستَتر هِلالي في ضَميري

وَمُستَتر هِلالي في ضَميري

And yet its crescent is exposed,

Yet they shine bare as the crescent moon revealed

while my crescent is hidden in my heart.

While my crescent is veiled, hidden in my heart
