لا تَلُمني عَلى اِجتِنابي لِلكا

س رُوَيداً فَما عَلَيَّ ملام
Do not blame me for shunning the cu—
Blame me not for shunning the company of men,
—p; gently now, for no blame rests on me.

ماnot تَرىyou see الشَيبthe gray hair فضةsilver فيin عذاريmy cheek
ما تَرى الشَيب فضة في عذاري
سَبَكتهُcast it بِنارِهاwith their fire الأَيامthe days
سَبَكتهُ بِنارِها الأَيام
Do you not see the gray hair, silver along my cheek,
You see not silver in the locks of my dark hair
which the days have cast with their fire?
