مَولايَmy Lord أَللَهمَّO God عَفواًforgiveness شامِلاًall-embracing
مَولايَ أَللَهمَّ عَفواً شامِلاً
وَكلاءَةًand protection كَكلاءَةِlike the protection of المَولودthe newborn
وَكلاءَةً كَكلاءَةِ المَولود
My Lord, O God, grant me all-embracing forgiveness,
and protection such as a newborn receives.
ماليI have no مقيلmidday resting place مِنfrom هَجيرscorching midday heat إِساءَتيmy wrongdoing
مالي مقيل مِن هَجير إِساءَتي
إِلّاexcept بِظلّin the shade of جَميلكYour kindness المَمدودoutstretched
إِلّا بِظلّ جَميلك المَمدود
I have no refuge from the searing midday heat of my wrongdoing
except in the outstretched shade of Your kindness.
