لِكُلِfor every كَريمgenerous person فيin البِلادthe land أَخلةclose friends
لِكُلِ كَريم في البِلاد أَخلة
وَماand not لِبِخيلfor a miser فيamong الأَنامhumankind خَليلa close friend
وَما لِبِخيل في الأَنام خَليل
Every generous person has close friends in the land;
Every generous man in the land has a friend
But a miser has no close friend among humankind.
But no miser among mankind has a comrade
