His splendor put the sun to shame with its radiance.
The sun revealed its splendor with its light
A full moon of beauty, with perfection's horizon for a sky.
A beautiful full moon, the height of perfection is its sky

The patron, the patron, who has left the age
The Guardian, the Guardian, the one who transcended the ages
as gardens upon which his showers fall.
With gardens touched by his achievements

Our hearts were won over and enslaved
Our hearts were won over, captivated
to his lofty abode by his favors, in kindness to us.
By his offspring, our devotion to them intensifies

Do not blame me if I prolong my praise;
Do not blame me if my praise is long
his blessings have made me love describing him.
I am enamored by describing his bounties

If a tongue should neglect to praise his eminence,
If an eloquent tongue were to forget his merits
its owner's limbs would reject bearing it.
It would carry what would weigh down its limbs

Whoever sees him, even with a fleeting glance,
Whoever sees him, even with a glance of an eye
happy are his morning and his evening.
His mornings and evenings are joyful
