يا مَن لَهُم ودي القَديم بِلائِذِ
In any sanctuary but yours, no eye will ever see me—
Without your protection I won't stay alive
O you to whom my longstanding affection belongs—as one seeking refuge.
O you whose old affection is my refuge
فَإِذاthen, when وَقَفتI stand بِبابكمat your door مُتَذَلِلاًhumbly

هَذا مَقام المُستَجير العائِذِ
Then, when I stand humbly at your door,
So when I stand humbled at your door
This is the station of one seeking protection and refuge.
This is the station of one seeking refuge
