قنعا بِما قَسم الإِل
هcompletion of the word 'God' وَماand what بِهِthrough it قَدindeed أَحسَناHe showed kindness
ه وَما بِهِ قَد أَحسَنا
Be content with what God has allotted
and with what He has bestowed in kindness.
طَمعgreed النُفوسthe souls مطيةa mount
طَمع النُفوس مطية
لِلنائِباتfor calamities وَالمعناand suffering
لِلنائِبات وَالمعنا
The greed of souls is a mount
for calamities and suffering.
قالَsaid النَبيthe Prophet المُصطَفىthe chosen one
قالَ النَبي المُصطَفى
أَغنىrichest الغَنىwealth تَركforsaking المُناwishes
أَغنى الغَنى تَرك المُنا
The chosen Prophet said:
The greatest wealth is to forsake wishes.
