Arbūtnā, the clouds have greeted you on our behalf;
O our hillock, may the clouds greet you on our behalf;
For you are the eye and brow upon the earth’s face.
For you are an eye and an eyebrow on the earth’s face.

Your dark-skinned songster, enamored of the tambourine,
And your sweet-voiced black singer is fond of the tambourine;
Revealed to us marvels upon the harp.
On the harp, his wonders were revealed to us.

مصيب لِأَنواع المَسَرة صائِب
We alighted in the shade along your slope, and every one of us
We lodged in the shade of your slope, so each of us
Attained every kind of delight, unerringly.
Found every kind of delight, never missing the mark.

We passed the night with the shadows of branches for our sky;
And we spent the night with the branches’ shadows as our sky;
Thus we were full moons, and our fellow revelers stars.
So we are full moons, and the drinking companions are stars.
