إِذ مَرَّ سُداً بَغَير أَجرٍ يَجري
My tears flow in sorrow for youth,
My tears flow in sorrow for youth,
For it passed in vain, with no reward accruing.
Since it passed in vain, with no reward accruing.

لا يُوقظهُ ضَجيج يَوم الحَشر
My fortune—you will always find it asleep;
You always see my fortune asleep;
Not even the clamor of the Day of Gathering can wake it.
The din of the Day of Resurrection does not awaken it.
